. . sometimes it happens. A bird in a scene un-noticed at the time of exposure, or a bug lands on the flower. In my case, a snap of speeding dogs revealed a stick which had been thrown for retrieval:

I believe this will qualify, I was catching the early shot of the St Croix valley when an immature bald eagle flew into the shot. Kinda wish that I had known it was happening.

Every derby bout I shoot, I come home with referee legs, arms, or butts in about 20% of my shots. They circle the outside of the track between me and the players, so they're impossible to miss.

About five seconds after the shot below, Lizard swung his fire dart straight into the bottom of my lens. It burned for a little while before I noticed. Use your lens hoods, kiddies. Mine's a little distorted, charred, and blistered, but still perfectly functional.

I was shooting a derby after party a few months ago and had a group portrait interrupted by a bra flying through my frame. At that point, I decided cameras probably weren't welcome at the party anymore.

Not a flying object as much as a dropping mass...was waiting on liftoff and checking focus...
discovered moment of indiscretion during PP.
