I Don't Want any Trouble Here... (bear fight)
I saw these two bears fight two or three times. The one aggressor just wouldn't leave the other bear alone. You can see the bear on the right is backpedaling as fast as he can. But to no avail, the other one is determined to cause trouble.
Notice most of the fighting is being done with their claws. Most of the scars on all of the bears looked like mainly claw marks rather than bites.
The gulls are just hoping to get a meal out of the whole affair.

Re: I Don't Want any Trouble Here... (bear fight)
Great images. I wish I had the opportunity to shoot bears...
When I visited Alaska 3 or 4 years ago, I didn't know that the best bear viewing (photographing) was on the Katmai. I spent ten-days touring (mostly fishing) the Kenai Peninsula. We did have one fly out to a lake but, didn't see any bears.
I did have one (possible) altercation witha bear. My guide and I were wading the Kenai River and were fishing just below a cut out bank which was about ten feet high. Suddenly some earth and rocks fell into the river from the bank above. The rest of our party were downstream so it could only have been a bear. I would have been very ready to give up the salmon that I had caught if the bear wanted it...

Thanks, everyone.
Christina, this was shot under an overcast sky. You can tell by the EXIF data my settings were 2 1/3 stops below sunny f16.
Ken glad you enjoyed the galleries. Many hours of field time over the years represented there.

These are wonderful, Dan! I love the second one best. The gulls look almost translucent and being able to see their heads better and those claws really makes it. I may have to put this place on my bucket list.
