Andre, I like the purple color and being able to see the veins in the petals due to the back-lighting. I also find it interesting how the foreground petal is only partially shadowed. I think your cold wait was well worth it.

With the next one, shot like this, I might just use a tad of fill flash or maybe a reflector will be better. It is not sharp enough to my liking, resizing seems to make it look a bit OOF.

You must be older than you appear in your photo, Andre, if you are whinging about the early morning cold. Apart from the detail in the petals Sergio mentioned, what I like about this image is the contrast between the purple and green.
There are a couple of white/light blobs you might want to attend to: upper right border and the tip of the leaf on the left
Love the backlit portions of the bloom. The BG is distracting with patterns of shadow and light. Did you consider isolating only a portion of the bloom? Sometimes less is more.
Second one is better IMO. BG much less distracting.
I prefer the second one.
This is my first time seeing an Iris so I could not make out the shape from the strong shadows of the first pix.
