    Lunch time

Today I met an opportunity that must not be wasted
expecially after the Geoff's feedback in my similar thread "beautiful trap"

    Crab spider at the table

    C&C always welcome!

    Hi Nicola,

Very good for exposure and magnification.

I just wonder whether a bit more DoF was possible?
    Both were shot at f/9.

    Cheers,

    Re: Lunch time

    But which spider, Nicola?

Looks like Xysticus species to me; and with X. cristatus being the more likely. Probably a female as far as I can tell from those angles.

Some good close shots of a small and interesting model. And one less greenbottle fly to worry about.

That flower is a tricky colour but you have managed the exposure and saturation nicely.

    Re: Lunch time

    thank you Dave,
I tried to close the diaphragm, once reducing shutter speed, but without tripod (damn! once again!) and without IS motion blurr were appearing, and the second try was to increase the ISO, but in the display it seemed to me that I was loosing too much details...
Best way is to try a focus stack... I'll try with this set of pictures in the next days
    cheers

    Re: Lunch time

    thank you Geoff,
I really don't know which spider... I usually terminate them before asking their name...

there were a lot of those flies... as you can see in the pic below

    Lunch time

(it flew away too early to let me get a good picture)

    have a good evening
    Nicola
