    My Vision

So, this didn't work exactly as planned. I had a picture in my head, of the Andrea Doria in 1953, docked in her home port of Genoa, Italy.

I was recently on a Disney Cruise with the kiddies (and Mrs.), and tried to replicate that picture. I took the photo with a Canon point n shoot, as I didn't bring the expensive kit on holiday with me. We were aboard a small diving vessel returning to board our ship, and although my Spanish is quite good, I wasn't able to communicate with the captain of the dive vessel quickly enough that I'd like him to slow down, so I could capture a shot.

Needless to say, it's not exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but I had fun (especially during the editing process). As always, any C+C is of course welcome!

So, here's what I had in my head:

And here's what I came up with:

    My Vision

    Thanks for having a look!

It may not be what you had in your head, but it came out wonderfully.

Actually Andrew, I think it’s a better shot than the Andrea.

And what’s more I’m especially glad your Disney Liner’s fate is still above water!

By the way? Did you get to meet Mickey?

Sensational photo Andrew. Great composition and your efforts in pp have paid off extremely well. Love the moody sky. Brilliant

I agree - your photo is much better than the original. The monochrome is a great look.

It just looks too sleek and fast, and that's not a bad thing.

Looks great Andrew !!! Did capture the feel of the Doria and btw is looking much better than the original. In the past few years it has disintegrated rapidly. Like the second better, great angle and all you needed was for someone to move the bg boat Mighty fine images !!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, and the wonderful encouragement!!

Terry - yes, we did get to see Mickey, several times actually.

Alfred, it is deteriorating rapidly, not quite as badly as everyone thinks, but the superstructure has pretty well slid off the deck, and disintegrated, and the tip of the bow has cracked, and split, and has created a large gaping hole.

Thanks again everyone - I'm glad you liked my photo!
