I’m also a fan of dark woodland shots with sun light beaming through the trees. Is that a stream? i’d of liked to of seen this enhanced and maybe the moss as well , nice though![]()
Kevin,
I really enjoy your work and do like this image. The sun streaming through the trees is lovely - you really seem to have an eye for light. I do wonder of the inclusion of more water in the foreground would improve the peaceful or 'soft' feel of the image. Maybe a portrait orientation with more water and part of the right removed (to the thickest tree)?
It really is a lovely image and I think that it encourages the viewer to pause and ponder...
Il like it as well. i too am a a fan of this type of shots.
I love the mood Kevin. Stunning!
Great image Kevin. I see the possibility of several different crops within this one...none better, just different.
I think I have been there before. Keep em coming, some day I will be back there.
An excellent piece that appeals to me as well Kevin. Nicely done!

VERY beautiful picture.
With the second, my eye is drawn much more to the details on the forest floor and the pool of water. Although the sunlight in the trees is still important to the overall scene, for me it now plays a supporting role rather then being the primary subject.
Love it, its more tranquil, my eyes catch the water first then u look up to see the light shining in the trees and that makes the image . great work
Dense woods are dark, creepy, enchanting places. You pulled it off.
Can't find the elves...![]()
Thanks for checking back, Frank
You very precisely point out the dilemma I had, and why I kept two versions. On one hand, the light through the trees was the main purpose of the shot, and everything else was "marginalized" to keep it that way. On the other, I thought a splash of light down low would still communicate that this is a mixed water and forest scene, and create an eye-line up to the ethereal rays.
Still can't decide. Why must life be so hard?
LOL!! I could not find any elves too, but I do see an Ent! Look carefully and you guys will find it!
Very nice image, Kevin. Very good use of light, IMO. And it does make me think of Fangorn! Thanks for sharing it...

Kevin, I see what you mean about being torn between the two images. #2 has a slight edge for me but they are both stunning.
gorgeous photo.. leaning towards #2, but both are gorgeous
Thanks, Shane and Christina. I think I am also settling on #2.
I like it.
