Birdfest 2013
I went to the beach on Tuesday evening for the usual shots but it was far from usual, there must have been a lot of bait fish in the water but it was like nothing I have ever seen before. There must have been well over 100,000 birds,There were 10,000 + Gulls, Terns, Cormorants, Hundreds of Pelicans, and according to a birder there were Shearwaters numbering over 10,000. It was amazing watching the feeding frenzy I really enjoyed shooting the Terns diving for food, below are a couple of photos trying to show the quantity of birds (no wide angle I had my 50-500 mm lens on) I will post more of individual birds next, I had over 400 photos to sort through!

Bobo, most of the birds had left by sunset but here's a couple that I did get.
Check out the side of the cliff it looks like a old man.

I like the lone Pelican best as well and #3 is right in there as well. Nice captures Roger.

Fascinating set. I like the effect of the group of gulls, interesting combo of individual and group that evokes the feeling you get of looking at a large flock where the eye focuses on a few among the many.
