    The Lowly Gull

When I head out to photograph birds I generally ignore gulls, I'm after more exotic things. Was up at 4am the other morning to be on the shore for low-tide and while standing in a tidal pool watching/photographing a local "oddity" reddish egret do his dance routine I had to stop to make some setting changes to my camera when I noticed that I wasn't the only one watching the show...

Lesley This image works for me, I would like to have seen a little more face of the bird But we have to take what nature gives us. Did you get good shots of the Egret? Thanks for posting.

Nice capture Lesley, good use of the reflection. I love still waters where a mirror image can be captured.

The reddish egret wasn't a very co-operatve subject when it came to working with the available light, so the shots that I got I'm keeping as documentation & part of the learning process
