The drake looks relaxed enough so it must be used to photographers or people. Nice warm tones in the highlights and water makes me assume they were taken at dusk or are you one of those disciplined photographers that can be up for the sunrise? I suppose at this time of year it is not that difficult where you are.

Thanks. Not an early type of person. I prefer the warm bed especially in the cold months.

This was taken mid-afternoon (ie almost sunset at this time of year).

Nice images Bobo, beautiful Mallard. Your mention of late afternoon sunset leads me to believe you shot these in Ontario. I wonder why this duck has not migrated yet.

That first one sure is nice and sharp with great detail Bobo. Very good. Ok all three are, but the first I like best.

Thanks Joe, yes back home. Actually many do not migrate but stick around the more popular water spots expecting to be fed.

Thanks Paul. With nothing better to do, ducks/geese are all I have at the moment. Once the weather clears should go further out. Couple of owls sighted so will be hunting those hopefully.

Hi Bobo. You captured the iridescent green color in the mallard's head very well. You really need the right lighting to do that. I agree all have good detail. One small suggestion would be move the ducks more towards a corner. It might result in a more dynamic image. Other than that, these are nice shots.

Thanks Ken, that is a great suggestion. Never thought of that. Will try it next time.
