    Marlow Bridge in November Sunshine

I made this image on Remembrance Sunday, one of the few times Marlow Bridge is closed to traffic. Normally is the bridge is busy through the day making photography almost imposable and not a little dangerous.

Marlow Suspension Bridge was designed by William Tierney Clark and constructed 1829 – 1832 to replace the old wooden bridge that had collapsed in 1828. William Tierney Clark also designed the Széchenyi Chain Bridge across the River Danube in Budapest and is a much larger scale version of Marlow Bridge.

That, I think, works very, very well.

It's stating the obvious to say that it relies on getting the symmetry right. But it does ... and you did.

Thank you Duncan. I had been planning this image for some time, but always frustrated by poor weather. This year the weather and position of the sun were pretty perfect.

Having the main elements placed centrally often gives poor results.

This shot is one of the exceptions and everything has come together nicely.
