    Glam/Rock'Roll/Jet-setting/Squirrel-chasing Diva

    This is Miss Kellie.

She has been her Momma’s Best Bud for nigh on twelve years now and they are inseparable. She is without question the most loving pup I have ever seen (not to mention the most vocal!). She is spoiled completely and utterly rotten!

She has what is likely to be a terminal illness and has been pretty sick lately. Though now she is bouncing back and is a lot like her old self. I have seen that if you will give them half a chance they will fight for themselves and you.

Her Momma (my wifey-poo) wanted something of her as a keepsake. We never really had anything. This is the first time I have had a pup “under the lights”. I have been paying attention to Richard’s (rpcrowe) Rescue shots and this shot was inspired by them.

A black fleece backdrop spread over a loveseat. Had to break out the background stands for some extra height for the backdrop. A Single Speedlite in my homemade beauty dish overhead and slightly in front of her. Just wanted to use it for some reason since I haven’t much. I was hoping to get some falloff and direction from it so as not to over-nuke the very close background. A reflector just in front of her on the floor angled slightly back at her. On a camera bracket was another Speedlite angled straight up shooting through a closed Fong sphere. That produced the catchlights.

    Shot at f/6.3, 1/250, ISO 100, 73mm from a 24-105mmL from about 8-10 feet out.

Her Mommy was behind me for this one mentioning squirrels! Her ears always perk up when there is mention of these dastardly critters, which invade her turf!

I think if our little Diva is willing I might do some more of her over the next couple of days to see what else I might come up with.

She is a bueatuiful pup captured in a lovely photo. Hope she continues to hold her own for awhile longer. Sometimes our furry kids surpise us

Thank you, Trina. She pretty much gets a tummy rub whenever she needs one, which seems to be constantly! I guess you are right in thinking all dogs are here for spoilage, but they earn it in spades.

Well thank you, Helen. I am amazed at how they will duke it out if you give them a chance. There is not even the slightest chance we are going to let her suffer or be in pain. But just when we think we are at the point where we may have to make a decision, she bounces right back at us.

She has already surprised on on a number of levels!

I wish you the very best with your darling friend.

This poem always brings tears to my eyes when I think of my dogs past and present.

I am just so happy that my wife and I are in the position to save large numbers of dogs from an early death. It's been 45 or 50 dogs that we have fostered who have been adopted into "furever" homes - this year!

Richard thank you so much, sir.

I have had the Rainbow Bridge on my computer for several years now. I will give it to Mrs. Canon when/if it comes down to it. I'm with you. I just can't read it without watering up. But at the same time it always makes my Heart Soar.

I have been saving it for just this occasion because its hard to lose your Best Bud.

Your wife and you are truly a Godsend Richard. That would not only make 45-50 pups in a loving home, but a minimum of the same amount of humans that get to experience the phenomenon of Unconditional Love.

And that too make my Heart Sing!

An adorable (and I'm sure fierce when it comes to those squirrels) girl. Lovely shot of her.

    Hope her health improves.

They don't live as long as we do, but I can't imagine living without them.
