Nice series James, the first one was made by the inclusion of the bird. What a rare catch that is.

Re: some whitetails shot with my 200mm
I prematurely decided not to photograph the first one cause he looked raggedy, But when the little bird landed on his tail I had too do it. After looking at jaimes deer I didnt wanna post mine. I have a couple more I might add next day or two.

Thanks James. Still getting used to it - darn thing is really complicated...
Back to the deer - considering his was with a 500 you had to get much closer for yours. I am max 300 which means learning to become part of the scenery and not spooking the targets. Works pretty well most of the time though my lazy side says get a longer lens.

Hi James, the first shot is so cute. It brought a smile to my face. You caught it at the perfect time with him staring at the bird. I love the last one also for different reasons. The context and the pose make this more of a moody shot to me. The muted colours and bare trees remind me that winter is coming and the lone deer and the way it is posing for you brings a feeling of sadness to me.
