Heart of the Matter..(and a question)
Was playing about with some textures and a flowerhead earlier and came up with this.
Then I got talking to a fellow 'togger' who insisted that as it is a square crop the centre of the flower MUST be in the centre. :/
I am not terribly keen on the idea of symmmetry so thought I would ask
Anyone got any thoughts on the matter?

This kind of photography is way out of my zone. So a gut "aesthetic" reaction is that the centre of the flower emphatically does NOT have to be in the centre of the crop. I love a pleasing asymmetry!

I can't see the image - (currently unavailable) but I would emphatically say regardless that it does not HAVE to be in the centre. Although of course rules are made to be broken, the "rule of thirds" still often applies to square as well as rectangular images.

Re: Heart of the Matter..(and a question)
For me, it doesn't have to be in the centre; but in this case I think that would be better. The flower isn't symmetrical so it wouldn't be totally equal.
Or if off centre, I would prefer to have less space on the plainer left side than the more complicated right.
