Thanks for that Andrew, as a DNG man (mainly because i shoot with 2 different brands... shhh dont tell anyone i have a canon) it makes little difference to me but i suppose a lossy DNG would be better than a jpeg....
I suppose it would give more flexibility for people to process images that had been given to them in this smaller format, but would that be good? or bad

Patrick mentioned this the other day. Personally, I just can't see a need for it (in a world where storage is cheap).
