Bali Underwater Macros / Close Ups

Just back from 8 days of diving at Tulamben, Bali and had a ball. This is a great place for underwater macro photography and I enjoyed evry minute I was there.

All photos taken with my G12 with either a single +3 or 2 x +3 macro wet lenses attached to the front of the housing.

They are lovely images. The Pygmy Seahorse is my favourite, but I've always had a soft spot for seahorses

Pygmy Seahorses are pretty cool little things... the bumps on them are actually coral polyps that they have ingested and then become toxic appendages that allow the seahorse to perfectly blend into their host coral for camouflage. I saw a couple of them when we were in Wakatobi, but my diving and dive photography skills were not up to the challenge and I did not get any photos of them. Hoping to get back there in the not too distant future to try again, though.

Karl makes me really jealous with these dive photos! I also didn't get to see any squat lobsters...

These dive photos are ID book quality for sure!
