    Crescent Moon

Here is a shot of the crescent moon that I took on the 24 May this year. Taken handheld on Nikon D300s and Sigma 150 - 500mm f5 - 6.3 DG OS lens at 500mm, f8, 1\25s with -0.7EV. Hopefully not to bad for a handheld shot, and shows the benefit of OS. It does look a lot better (and much larger!!) when viewed in its full .tiff format.

    Regards

If you can get that good a shot handheld and at slow shutter, I'd love to see what you come up with on a tripod and remote or delayed shutter release

As soon as the rain and clouds move away, (which with the way things are weatherwise here in the UK, could be a while!!), I'm going to try and photograph the Moon again, but as sugested, on a tripod, using a shutter release and probably with the mirror up to further reduce vibrations.
