What's your say towards the shadows and light set-up? There was only one light used, 45 degrees on my right. Apologies for the dirty background.

Lighting looks good for what you were going for. Even, and not dramatic. You're right about the background though. Maybe move her a few feet away to avoid the fall off shadow, and that would eliminate being able to see the crayon too!
