    How's The Serenity ?

This is a shot taken yesterday from the banks of the Condamine River at Warwick (Qld). I was trying to capture the tranquility of the scene. This scene is fairly typical of the inland rivers of Australia - gum trees and weeping willows on the banks of a muddy slow flowing river. It could be any one of the inland rivers - the Murray, Darling etc. (and the water from the Condamine does eventually end up in the Darling and then Murray before it finally reaches the sea in South Australia, a long long way from Qld).

    C&C welcome

    Hi Dave,

That is a beautiful scene. If I was going for serenity, I might tone down the sky a bit (the darkened underside of the clouds makes it appear that a system may be brewing.) Also, there is a reflection line that runs vertically on the water about three quarters of the way between left and right. There doesn't seem to be anything in the photo causing the relection unless it was something you clones out. It's kind of distracting. Absolutely love the section of the photo on the left with the river, trees and open space behind them. Your DOF has left everything sharp; looks wonderful.

What lovely weather. We had a spring snow here... about 3 inches. Blech!

Feels like I am sitting on the water. Nice shot.

Thanks Myra, Bobo and Darren for your comments. Myra you are quite correct about the vertical reflection line - I cloned out a wooden light pole but didn't even think about it's reflection !! I will fix it up. The sky was quite bright and I used the Highlights adjustment to tone it down. I think this caused the darker underside of the clouds to be emphasised a bit. Darren I've never played with IR. Must have a go !

    Hi Dave,

One more thing that might be worth a click or two with the clone tool; just to the right of the right hand tree is a white block showing through the foliage, I find it attracts my eye.

Very nice scene presented at a good size.

    Well done,

    Well done,
Thanks Dave. I can see it and will get rid of it.
