This Old Man has seen it all
This is a tree I pass every day. It is basically at the end of its life it doesn't change with the seasons. It just stands alone in a field.

Diane nice image that said the tree as your centre of focus needs to be a lot sharper, either by correct focus or stop down the f-stop couple more stops.

Re: This Old Man has seen it all
Hi Diane,
While the second is a little sharper, I am wondering what I am seeing here.
At this image size, I can't work out for sure, but the odd bits are the significant branch thickness and tone variations - now this may well be natural; i.e. the tree has lost (dark, thick) bark and is showing the (lighter) wood core, but at this size+resolution it could be mistaken for capture/creative sharpening applied with too high a threshold (and also possibly too wide a radius).
You could reprocess and upload to TinyPic at exactly twice this size (e.g. 1400 x 964px) so we could see clearer and it would still fit most screens - but that's optional
Was it a RAW or jpg capture? If jpg, you're options are very limited.
Cheers,

Re: This Old Man has seen it all
OK trying larger size. Went back to RAW file and started again. I'm having trouble with Camera RAW from Adobe I can't get it to work on either of my computers. I used the basic Nikon software I got with my camera and I shot both RAW and JPEG.
Thanks

Diane what type of camera did you use to shoot this with?? I really love the idea of this photo, I think it could be a really special photo with the lone tree and the barn in the background it has a great mood to it. Just wondering about hte camera because I have the same problem with getting my images really crisp and clear.
