    Lovejoy comet at dawn

I took this shot yesterday morning at 4.30am. I was about an hour too late to spend enough time getting all my settings just right. I just managed to get off this single 2 minute exposure before it got too light to see the comet. Ideally I should have taken multiple shorter exposures and stacked them.

Nice capture Mark..Lovejoy comet at dawn

Lovejoy has been a popular subject lately, and from what I see in the pics you folks down
in the So. Hemisphere are getting some magnificent early morning views...

Not sure if the images will show if you are unregistered, but there's been a lot of chatter
(and several great images) of Lovejoy over on Astroholic:

Most images there have the EXIF data posted with them, so you might get some
ideas on the settings others are using.

From what I see in the pics, the tail continues to grow and is now about 25º in length.

Found a site with some incredible images taken from the Space Station:

The EXIF data for the pics is still attached, and they were taken with a
    Nikon D3s, f/1.4, ISO 12,800, 1s exposure at 85mm
