Nice work Sharon. I love the lighting in the first image. The second image is under exposed about 1stop but I love the texture. Looks like you really do well working with fruit. I'd love to see a pic of your setup.

    Re: Marmalade anyone?

Thanks Rob...I do have a wee habit of under exposing for detail. Am working on it!

I only got my macro lense 2 months ago because the weather up here is so dreadful I decided I needed to extend my season somehow.

As for my 'set up'...oh lordy, I wish!! I have 2 sq feet of kitchen worktop space ( unless someone wants to make scrambled eggs...in which case it is less)

The good light comes from having 2 windows at 45 degree angles, my macro ring and a normal reading lamp I wave about like a low budget Aladdin. Nothing sophisticated or dedicated.

and I am so fed up with FRUIT! lol

Whatever works for you. You are getting great shots. If you Feel like the light is to harsh from the lamp at times you can use a piece of paper or white linen to soften the light, quick easy tip. A lot of my desktop studio stuff is done on a DIY backdrop made of white or black foam boards and a pair of cheepo light stands with shoot threw white umbrellas for fill with my ring light on my lens. The close-up fruity trend continues. Maybe we should have a running thread similar to the insects and flowers ones so that all our fruits go into one basket.

Nice one Daisy. I like 2, looks good enough to want to eat it.

Rob - that is a nice and simple setup. What is that black thing on the acrylic board just in front of the lens caps and hood? A flash with a funny wrap around thingy?

That's exactly what it is, my 50mm f/1.4 the thing on the flash is a piece of black & white foam glued together with spray trim adhesive so it stays flexible to create a bigger flash with indirect light. You can hold it to the flash with a rubber band or a Velcro strap.

Yes, I agree. All this healthy stuff is alien to us Scots. Can you not switch over to shooting sausage rolls, pies, black pudding, etc? Real food!

Somehow, I get the feeling Black pudding is directly related to Blood Sausage.

Same sort of high-class, sophisticated culinary heritage, I suspect.
