    The Art Of Doing Nothing

    The Art Of Doing Nothing

Since classes has been suspended due to heavy rains, and I have nothing to do, I thought of playing with PS and put some of my favorite photos altogether. I was browsing for tutorials on how to make Christmas ball glossy, with the flares effects and I ended up doing this. Well I guess I learned something again and made my day very productive...do you think so?

That is excellent, Al. Well done.

My only comment - Can you make it so that the top of the ball is not right against the edge of the frame?

The ball and the reflection is very cool... ...not so keen on the frame though... But looks like you had fun doing this

Beautiful execution Al! As I look it over carefully I wonder if it would look more like a Christmas ornament if the reflection didn't touch the ball - as if it were suspended over the reflective surface?

Al, do you have a link for the technique you used to create the ball? I would like to try that to include that look in my digital Christmas Card.

Nice Avitar but I do miss the hat!

Cool idea. As Donald pointed out a little more space on the top would be better. Not sure if it's just me or not but I think it might be ever so slightly off center to the left? The color of the border is ok, I just feel it needs more depth. As far as the reflection touching the ball, maybe a slight shadow will give it a more realistic effect. Still, I love the idea and composition!

Hi Rob, yes Donald was right in pointing the space on top and I noticed that too. I just need a little practice on this and I hope I would get on it well, just in time for making Christmas cards! Thank you for viewing.
