    Blue Ring Octopus

Shot this little fella during a dive on Sunday - it is amazing to think something so small is one of the most deadliest creatures on the planet. His head was the size of my thumb

This one in particular is very good. A couple of points that, given the conditions in which it is shot, are perhaps explainable:
    • That object encroaching at the bottom left is maybe a bit distracting and,
    • That 'bit' (highly technical term) that's touching the top of the frame. I wonder if it would have been helped if there had been just a bit of space between it and the top edge?

A real beauty, Karl. I looked this creature up and with neurotoxins 10,000 times more toxic than cyanide, I wouldn't want to agitate this fellow! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-ringed_octopus

    Hi Donald,

Thanks for that. In this shot he was inside a 'hole' (for want of a better description) and was trying to climb out. I got as close as I could but when they are flashing blue it means to keep away and they can be very quick to bite so I didnt want to get too close

I did try a crop but it didn't work so I left it as is.

Aahh! Well, in that case, ............. If he wants to sit beside some sort of object that affects your photograph, then he's perfectly entitled to do so!!
