would love to hear your comments on this photo, very new to photography and would love any suggestions on how to make my photos better. Thanks.

I like the concept behind this photo, however i think i would clone out what look to me to be a couple of cows in the background as they tend to draw the eye away from the rose, i'm no expert but other than that i think you have done a good job

Yes, I agree with James.

Roses are difficult to photograph well and you have done well with the colour, detail and depth of focus; but that background just doesn't work for me.

I find that flowers, particularly roses, tend to need either some careful camera work in a studio or a little natural greenery in the distant background. But I know how difficult this can be to achieve.

Hi Kathy,
I agree the background (cows) do distract from Rose itself. I like the overexposed area around the flower. I rotated your picture 90 degrees clockwise (just turned the screen), which I think, also works well. Well done.

I'ts funny I never even noticed the cows until they were pointed out, that is how new I am to photography, I will definately be paying more attention to is in the background from now on. Thank you.
