    Lettuce Sea Slug

Well, I can't make Karl be the only representative from the CiC Underwater Photographers sub-committee, so here are some shots showing off some of the many colors and patterns of the Lettuce Sea Slug (Elysia crispata).

with nudibranchs gills never looked so elegant as they way they display them with the myriad of vibrant colors & shapes; your captures do them true justice.

Love them all. Now if I can only persuade someone close to me to let me buy/buy me ............
On second thoughts, not upsetting her may be a better idea in the long term. And the short term.

Seriously, beautiful. Love the delicacy of the first one especially (a klutz like me appreciates the opposite).

Glad that everyone likes them! I have taken it as my personal task to make everyone love nudibranchs!

These were found in the Caribbean off of Saba Island. I spent a week on the Caribbean Explorer II live-aboard vessel diving off of St. Kitts, Saba, and St. Maarten.

While there, I found four (maybe five) different species of nudibranchs. These guys were certainly the most numerous, but I also saw some Long-Horn Nudibranchs and a couple other species that I will be sharing soon.

When I was in Wakatobi, there were many more nudibranchs to be found. By my rough counts, I photographed 35 specific individuals consisting of 19 different species. The Indo-Pacific is just so much more diverse than the Caribbean - you're lucky to be able to dive their more easily than I.
