Hi Deb, you say that you can 'fix' the images by making adjustments? Are you saying that if you open an image and make any change to it, it then views correctly or is there a specific change you need to make? If it is any change then it sounds like the software is not fully rendering the image unless it is 'touched'.
I did a search on 'Adobe Bridge images out of focus' and found the following in addition to other links. http://forums.adobe.com/message/2846405.
It appears that this is a known, but seldom encountered issue. There can be several causes.
First is the Video Card Driver, regardless of the card you will want to make sure that you have the latest drivers installed.
Second, there are issues specific to the NVidia Display Adapter. If you computer uses this video card you will definitely want to make sure that you have the latest drivers and if that doesn't fix it, contact Adobe with the information from the link above.
Third, the Adobe Cache may be corrupt and you are seeing cached images until you make a change and the new image is cached. You can purge the cache and it will get rebuilt. In Bridge go to Edit/Preferences/Cache/Compact Cache. If the issue continues, use Edit/Preferences/Cache/Purge Cache.
Fourth, there can be other applications that are interfering with Bridge. Try a reboot and not starting any other applications. On the PC this can be forced, it is called Safe Mode, but I don't know how to do this on the MAC. One application that has been reported to cause this behavior in Brifge is Version Cue.
Fifth, you may be running low on memory. Bridge renders the image first as low resolution then re-renders it at full resolution. If the computer is low on memory, it may not have enough to render at high resolution. Low memory can also occur if there are too many other applications running at the same time. Photoshop may be forcing the computer to provide sufficient memory when you change the image as opposed to just viewing the image.
There are other possibilities as well that are not necessarily Adobe's fault and are more computer resource related.
I hope this helps!![]()
