    Cemetery Landscape

Taken at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Converted to B&W in Paintshop Pro X2. Any C/C welcome.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Re: Cemetery Landscape

A bit soft for me, Joe. Also, the foreground was cut off abruptly. I wish I could see some more foreground. A good subject to photograph if I may say and nice clouds.

    Re: Cemetery Landscape

Thanks Willie! I felt the same about the foreground too. I should have put more in. I hope to go back soon and maybe get a better shot. What do you mean by "soft"? I did 2 B&W conversions of this shot and decided to post this one. I will try to post the other. The other I feel is close to this one but maybe just a little darker. Thanks for your comments/help. I always enjoy learning from your posts, whether its on your work, or work of another fellow CIC member. Thanks, Joe

The first posted image needs some more sharpening. That's what I meant by soft. I haven't seen any cemetery nearby. I wish I could go to one and take some shots, too.

    Re: another try

    Hi Joe
Hope you don't mind me butting in with a pithy comment. Looked at your post and to my relatively untrained eye it looked more like a tree landscape than a cemetery landscape, To me the tombstone images were totally overwhelmed by the magnificent trees. I wondered if you had moved in closer for a more framed partial shot rather than trying for the panorama effect you have achieved? For me it loses the impact of what should have been be the core interest. But as I say, just my opinion , not my shot and many others may disagree with me with good reason. Again I apologize for my cheekiness, but I had a quick crop of your original as best I could. I really would have liked to have done something which incorporated the two lovely trees on the LHS of the frame but their size in the shot totally overshadowed the head stones which, if I have got it right, are meant to be the prime focus of the shot.
But as I say. Just my opinion.
    Cheers
