    A Different Perspective

This is an old image I had which I've played around a bit with tone mapping on the building and warming filter on the sky. Please tell me if I'm losing it

It's a very famous building by the way.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Re: A Different Perspective

Works for me, Dave. I was wondering if adding another image of a sky as a composite would make the shot more interesting. Just an idea.

It's worth having a look at Willie, I'll play around a bit more. It was a perfect day in the Big Apple and the sky was just plain old blue. Dave

I would like to see some of the light orangish-tannish-ecruish color reflected in the concrete and steel as I see the blue already there.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

    Re: A Different Perspective

What a fun angle to shoot. I do agree with Chris that a bit of color in the concrete would be nice. I love the picture.

    Re: A Different Perspective

Thanks for your comments Chis and Mary. Here are two more attempts, both incorporating some more colour in the concrete and one with a different sky as suggested by Willie. Changing a sky seems a bit artificial in a way to me however I suppose the whole image is about effect rather than reality. Cheers Dave

Woh; that is some picture. Don't like city's much; they make me think of ant's nests. But this is one impressive photo.

Dave, you made a good image really great. The colors of the concrete with blue-gray of the steel against the sky really grab my eye. Makes me think of walking in NYC.

Unlike Steve, I love the city... not to live, but I love visiting. I love the buildings and all the activity of the people. And... I can be completely anonymous there... not noticed by anyone.

Thanks Mary. We were fortunate enough to visit the city twice when my daughter and her husband were living there for three years. Once in summer and once in winter. (I've never been so cold in my life !) I too liked the buzz of the city and the diversity of the people, food etc but I wouldn't want to live there.

    Cheers Dave
