Nice series of pics Brigitte, the angle of the third, tenth pic seems to be a bit off for me.

Glad to see you're out and about takin' pics. Weather looks good too. I wish we could say the same for here!
Keep 'em coming Brigette.
I agree, a good series Brigitte.
I assume you are pleased with the results the A470 is providing for you?
If I may, just a couple of things to watch for in future are mainly final framing; the odd one is not quite as straight as it could be and also sometimes you have gone in just that little too close and clipped the apex or edge off of something. Both can be assessed before finally clicking the shutter by having a quick look all around the edges of the LCD/viewfinder to check that things are even each side (move yourself a little one way or the other to correct) and nothing is chopped off (pan up/down/left/right to correct).
However, your shots have succeeded in making me think your hometown looks like a nice place to live, well done.
Best regards,
Nice work Brigitte ! Keep it up.
The framing and perhaps the angle looking up at the buildings are the main things as Dave says to watch. The perspective might be tweaked PP but only a specialist Tilt n Shift lens on a DSLR will truly do them justice.
Lots of very interesting timber buildings though and plenty of scope for more interesting shots in the future. You should be on the tourist board, certainly makes me want to visit.
Those buildings look very much full of character Brigitte, nice photos, great weather too.
I really like the colours, contrast and angles of this group. You have captured them well Brigitte.
Others' comments about a little clipping and tipping are valid but the atmosphere you want to convey remains.
I am reminded of a town we visited many years ago, Rothenberg ab der Tauber; are you any where near there?
roxy
Dear Roxy ( Richard ) !
Thanks that you like my photos.
Great that you have been in Germany. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is in Bavaria near Würzburg. My Hometown is by Frankfurt (Hessian), the middle of Germany about 200 km away from Rothenburg, about two hours by car.
I haven´t been there but a it must be an interesting city with a lot of old historical buildings, churches and museums. It´s a nice background for taking shots.
regards,
Brigitte
As I was saying earlier, and confirmed by the other's similarly positive comments here, perhaps we should all have a go at this idea with series of posts from any or all of us.
This could be entitled "In my hometown: <place name here>". I think it might be best to keep them as separate threads, in this particular forum, rather than like the (excellent) but very long (even without pictures) welcome threads, but Sean, Colin or indeed anyone else may have a view on that.
Perhaps a loose maximum of say, 10 images per thread?
I'm thinking that after the welcome thread, it's the next most obvious thing for any new joiners, regardless of camera type or skill level, to be able to contribute to.
My thanks to Brigitte for giving me the idea.
Any takers?

Hi Roxy,
Not for me to say really, but I'm all for getting on with things and sorting out any problems afterwards - especially if I don't have to do the sorting
We don't take things too seriously around here (thankfully, or I'd be thrown out)
Here's a few thoughts to discuss;
1) Definition of hometown = Nearest town/village centre to your home where you could get groceries for the week or month (even if you don't 'cos you go to the hyper/super/duper market like everyone else)
Example; my local town centre is Windsor, which is connected by a bridge to Eton, they are literally the width of the Thames apart, about 100m. So should I include Eton? Since I can walk there in less than a minute (from Windsor), as distinct from driving miles, I'm inclined to say yes.
2) Taken within, or of, the hometown So view of hometown from nearby hilltop is OK
3) Between say, 5 and 10 photos are expected.
4) Taken by yourself (and/or partner?)
5) Each entrant should start a new thread for their hometown
If this gets endorsed by the powers that be, the "rules" might helpfully be in a sticky thread entitled "Hometown Photo submissions", it is not a 'challenge'
Since this is too encourage new joiners to submit without fear of comments, perhaps we should suggest initial critiques be curtailed to none, or no more than one helpful suggestion (for all photo's) unless the submitter asks for more. (This is to stop me as much as anyone!)
