Think I have finally found a lens I really like...well, another one, anyway

Nikkor 55-300 F: 4.5-5.6

This image was shot at 300mm, F:9 @ 1/320 ISO 320. It was shot with a tripod but was still fighting about a 4-5 mph breeze. I think it is a good indication of the lens's performance. I will others to this thread as I continue to explore the full gamut of mm's, aperture and shutter combinations.



What the original shot looked like and the amount of cropping necessary...and it still held a pretty decent sharpness to the image.



One more shot at a distance of about 25 feet (8.5 meters +/-) F: 6.3 @ 1/1000 Focal Length 0f 138mm ISO 100

Nice shots Chris. I think by proxy, we'll like that lens too with the expectation of more quality shots like this coming out of it.

Its odd how that happens. I have that feeling when I use the old EF70-210 constant F/4. It just seems right for what I want to do somehow

Nice crop Chris. It is the camera as well of course that makes this possible . Maybe you finally got lucky with it.

We'll see tonight when I shoot another full moon...I plan to shoot a series of shots until I find the optimum focal length for this kind of shot, though plan to shoot at /100 ISO 100, 200, 400, and 800
