I don't seem to have a dark background, anymore (the other one/wall really wasn't working); so, I tried to use the back of the reflector shield that I have. It was all wrinkly. I just need to keep searching the craft stores for some nicer card stock, is all. I think it looks better against a dark background, though, and that is why I included this one - wrinkles and all.

    Are they too "worked on"?

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Re: I.....it.....it's a tulip!

Every one looks pretty good for me, Katy. The last one has more character to it due to the strong contrast but I am leaning more into liking #2 and #3 the best. The softness and the colors seem to work seamlessly with this type of subject. Well done.

Very good, Katy. I think you are improving (I just get worse). The last one is the most striking, but I think I'd have pulled back those two 'come-from-nowhere' leaves at the bottom.

I didn't even 'see' it that way until just now. That makes sense.

Great shots Katy. I liked them all. But if I had to state my 'druthers,' then I would go for #2. But only by a gnat's whisker.

Ken I'm hoping they get your drift...
Dear Katy - I can translate for you if you need me to

I totally agree with others. Very delicate and expertly lit. As Rob has said the two leaves can be removed but apart from that I think they are cracking shots.

not at all. In fact along with the removal of the leaves the shot with the dark background would benefit from a couple of dabs with the black dropper in levels.

No, no, nooooo... I speak "ucci"! (I think! Is there something I'm missing?)

    Thanks, Ken!

Oh, goody! I'll just have to figure out how to do that, then.

Very delicate Katy. I like the light background best. Probably because it makes the whole look like a watercolor a bit. I agree about the leaves in picture 2, in picture 1 they don't really bother me because they are clearly a part of the flower there.

Get a sharp knife and cut them off... oh, you mean the black stuff? Select the background with the magic wand tool (I included one of the rogue leaves too) then add a 'solid colour' layer in PS. I used black.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

    Re: I.....it.....it's a tulip!

I like them all, but am partial to number 3... although a bit more contrast or saturation would suit 'my' unexpert ( I make up my own words cuz I'm kool like that ) taste. And, yes... the rogue leaves must go.

P.S. I forgot to mention that another reason I luv it... it's... PINK.

Hi Katy, for me the darker background in the last one really makes the detail and subtle color changes in the pedals really stand out. A winner! The leaves are like two arms praising the beauty of the blossom.

Beautiful Katy, and certainly not overdone, very natural and delicate looking. I prefer #2 without the leaves and with the white background. All of them are extremely well done though, love them

    Hi Katy,

These are something special, like many others, #2 for me, but only just.

I think the light background suits the subtle colours nicely.
I prefer Rob's version of #4 on black to the 'wrinkly blue' though

    Good work,

Of course you do!! Like a toff, in fact. And nothing has gotten past your ken* in this post * No, not me but ' ken,' as in "D' ye ken John Peel in his coat so grey... etc., etc.," ... Goodness I can't believe what I have just written... Hmmm maybe need to go back on the tablets... or stop smoking those funny cigarettes......

I'm a bit overwhelmed in even thinking about responding... (meaning, only, there's quite a few of you to respond to...) Thanks, everyone, for your super encouragement! Truth be told, the photos didn't even come near to catching the glowing delicacy of this flower, which I enjoyed for a good week or more! I think I've just discovered on my own why to use focus stacking. Anyhoo,...

Mary, you're adorable! and very kool!

Ken, well, I don't ken John Peel personally....LOL! Snort! Please, don't go back on the tablets....
