It does make me wonder what they are discussing. I like the way you have framed this image, Lew, with those strong diagonal lines.
Perfect!!
Too perfect!
Great capture Lew. I too love those strong diagonals with the splash of corner colour with the melons.
Not sure how you feel about cloning in post with respect your images, but I think replacing/cloning the bank in the top right corner by extending the water would keep the viewer's eye focussed on the subjects and lessen any distraction from those strong diagonals.
I like the overhead perspective, the diagonals, the shadow of the one man connecting the two, and the warmth of the image. Well seen, composed, and captured, Lew.

Lew,
Another interesting story-telling picture.
Unusual point of view, well composed and nicely exposed.
And as for the bit of the bank up in the corner?
I think it is important to the story as it gives us a bit of information about the environment of the subjects and visually anchors the composition.
Well done.

Great image Lew![]()
nicely captured
These are Intha people who live around the lake and are traditional goldsmiths, silversmiths and farmers. Their houses are built on stilts in the shallow Inle lake and they farm on artificial islands formed by driving bamboo into the lake bed, weaving bamboo mats to form a 'floor' and then heaping rocks and dirt from the surrounding marshes to create accessible islands.
Travel is most often by boat because the land is swampy and changeable. These women are in passage to/from the 5 day market that circulates in villages around the large lake and draws villagers and tourists.
I have many pictures of this region and I can post them in a series if there is interest.
Lew, absolutely marvellous.
Cheers Ole
Great shot mate!

That far bank bothers me. Shame.
