Nice moment, Lew, and I agree it does seem like a very nice clean, sharp lens. I think you're going to have fun with this.
What camera is this on?
Sergio
This is the A7II and 55 1.8, nicer light, fast combination.
It is sharper than looks here, this is at about 1:4 in deep shadow and not sharpened, except in LR.
Interesting street scene. Why do young people find it necessary to put their feet on the seat? Good contrast with the woman adjacent to them.
Nice image LewThe foliage seems kind of soft and I like it. Did you use orton effect or something like that to create that look on the foliage?
I have both primes and zooms and for most shooting, I prefer to crop in camera using my zooms.
Zooming with one's feet is not always an option and today's top-line zoom lenses have excellent image quality...
I most often do not need or use much wider aperture than f/2.8 which is available on my EFS 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens. Although I do own a 5D Mark-2, I do most of my shooting with my crop Canon 7D cameras...
I have been shooting with this lens for many years now and almost never revert to my EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark I lens which was a go-to glass before I acquired the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens...
I didn't do it.
It was taken at 1/60th with a 55 mm lens.
Perhaps there was a small breeze not appearant where I was standing.
This is where they were sitting, at the end of an 'alleyway' that runs over a small local river and there seems to be always a changeable breeze down that alley. It may have been that breeze that moved the foliage and I didn't notice.
