Sunset at the beach
Last night I went to the beach to try for an image of the sunset. My goal was to get the sun just resting on the end of the pier. Everything was lined up perfectly in my head, the sun was in perfect position, but, I didn't count on how many people would be standing at the end of the pier. Kind of ruined the image I had in mind. The evening wasn't wasted and this is one of the images I came home with. It is a hand held 9 shot panorama. I did have my tripod but as the pier was moving it wasn't going to help me much for stabilization.
Feedback is always welcomed, good and bad.

Re: Sunset at the beach
Very fiery sky, I think the colorful capture outweighs any negative comments; which would only for either a bit more brightness on the right or a crop of just the sunset. Nicely done.

Re: Sunset at the beach
Beautiful! What software was used to stitch the shots together; or was it done in camera?

Re: Sunset at the beach
Thank you John and Doug.
Joe, thank you. I used photoshop to create the pano. I selected automation from the file menu, photo merge, then selected auto and that was it. A bit of cropping and final touch ups and it was done.

Hi Rita,
Absolutely gorgeous! I think you have a winner and should send it in to the Weather Window.... but that would likely mean you'd have to crop it to fit their format to fill the screen (left side) but I love it as presented.

Re: Sunset at the beach
Binnur, thanks for the feedback. I don't know if it is your eyes or not but mine are having the same issue. I keep bouncing back and forth on wether it is curved or if the darkish shadow just in front of the land is making it look like it is. Still can't decide.
Thank you David, much appreciated.
Thank you Christina. Funny you should say about sending it to the Weather Window because I did upload it to the weather channel. Seems that they have accepted it as is.

What can I say, Rita??? Very beautiful colours. I always love this kind of shots no matter what...Excellent. Photoshop is pretty good in photo merging. I did a 16 shot handheld last week and pp-ed it at Photoshop and it did nor flinch nor complained. Good software.
