    Project 52 Scott Benz

I have so enjoyed my time here on CIC. It seems I have less wisdom to offer than what is cumulatively received. The focus of the folks here is on learning and evolving. Having another set of eyes is important, having hundreds is even better.

Just ordered a Nikon D7000 as I was trying to get one produced prior to production ending due to the flood in Thailand and potential bi- tri- or quad-furcation of production of this model over multiple locations by Nikon in the event that actually occurs.

I haven't been posting many photos lately but my goal is to produce and post one legit keeper per week. Like FrankMi, my goal is to improve my PP skills and tune the use of certain plugins. (Frank's PP skills are pretty darn good bye the by.)

HDR images are a new frontier and I would like to develop.

In any case, I am looking forward to a wonderful second year of photography.

    Happy new year to all!

Don't let waiting on a new camera stop you from posting, Scott. Think of it as scouting for great shooting locations.

    Week One.

Not much to go on. Work has kept me really busy.

OMG, I love this. I cannot give any technical critique because I don't do this kind of thing, but IMO the expression in this shot is wonderful. Certainly brought a smile to my face and got me wondering what a day looking after him would be like. He looks like he is planning some kind of mischief

Nice I don't think there's anything to critique on is there?

Does this post need to get moved to where the other Project 52 threads are?

Love your work Scott. The eyes look a little overcooked but my son had eyes and hair like that when he was two, too.

Malcolm you are correct. Project 52 is in the nature & Architecture section. I'm not a Mod so I can't move it though.
With that said, I'm not big into portrait work but to me it looks like you nailed it. Lighting looks good and the eyes are nice and sharp. Great work.

Mark. I agree with you this one stayed in the oven a little too long.

    Week 2:

This is going to be tough! The beginning of the year tends to be a zoo at work. So much so, I decided to start popping off shots of anything remotely interesting around the office where I have a number of different lamps and various pieces of art. This image is the best of the week.

This is the base of a lamp made from various cogs welded together. Hand made and puchased at the Ann Arbor Art Fair (One of the best in the world). Enjoy!
