    Sorry, this is a hand held job. Darned Moon wouldn't wait for me to dash inside and grab the tripod. And the tree just didn't give a damn, either way.
    Not sure which is best crop for this. Maybe 2nd image could do with a bit of a hair cut?

    I suppose it has to be the second image. The branch which you removed from the first photo does point back towards the moon but I still find it a bit distracting.

    Have you tried a partial crop which just removes half of those branches. End it on the V shaped branching of that area. A small amount of cloning may be necessary.

    Just a thought, I'm not really sure.

    Thanks for feed back Geoff, Godd suggestion whicj h is worth a try. I liked the foliage on the right but like you I found it distracting and so cropped it. maybe I cropped too hard.

    Better a rising moon than one that is setting. At least you have enough time to capture something, even if the horizon or trees in silhouetter are lost.
