    Norwegian landscape.

I went for a walk with my girlfriend and the dog today. The weather wasn't the nicest it's been around here, but the temperature was nice, and there was an amazing view! I thought I should share it with you guys.

    Norwegian landscape.

    ISO 180, 18mm, f/10, 1/250 sec.

Hope you'll enjoy the view as much as I did!

    C&C very welcome.

Ideally, Andre, I would have liked to see just a fraction more land at the bottom.

But I will willingly settle for what you have there.

I agree with the others. That's a beautiful sky - masterfully exposed. Well done.

I would've gone for more land at the bottom if it wasn't for the bad, bad, bad rocks that I cropped away.

Is there anything that I could have done differently to make this better?

When you're already starting with such a good image, a discussion like this gets down to personal preferences and subjective thoughts.

And if I wanted to further explore what impact any further PP'ing would have, I would (if they are not totally at black, which I don't think they are) do a bit of dodging of the headlands to bring out a very small bit of detail. Not much, but just a very small amount. Colin did something similar with an image some time ago, which he more recently referred back to. If I could find it I would link it to this post.

But, when you've got a good one, it's about knowing when to stop trying to do more to it.

First, I want to say that this is really beautiful. I love the blue in the sky, down to the "yellowy/pink" of the horizon. It's not a typical sky or sunset (that's really good) and, I think, there's lots of emotion in this. Donald needs to give you a mini lesson/lecture like he's given me about emotions when shooting a photo - it's a good thing to hear.

Okay, now, I want to agree with Geoff. The image made me stop and look at the gorgeous clouds, then I wandered down to the God rays - so beautiful - then, I was trying to discern the "land" (this is good - you've got me studying the photo) but, then, the shadowy black line on the frame pulled me right out of the scene. I was trying to figure out where the land was and got distracted trying to figure out what was frame and what was land. That's just me, however.)

    Thanks for sharing this!

André, very nice picture! It reminded me of Nordic mithology. This picture, perhaps with some other, could easily be entitle as Ragnarök collors, Lightings of Odin or something like that

    Congratulations!

    Ha det bra!
