    Cemetery Shots

A set from the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA:

Stained glass from inside one of the Sarcophagus' (I believe that's what you call it):
    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Some other misc shots:
    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

    Cemetery Shots

I went with a group of photographers today, is was a great time of learning and taking shots. My personal favs are the stained glass shots, but just wanted to share.

The rest of the set can be found here, if interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/joshdickens/

A fine collection of of images Josh. I agree with you the stain glass windows are exceptionally good.

We have old cemeteries like this in London built in Victorian times on the then outskirts of Central London, the most famous being Highgate Cemetery and Kensal Green Cemetery. These are very large, Kensal Green being about 75 acres and were built to solve overcrowding created by a fast growing London.

Like your Atlanta Cemetery they are full of large and extravagantly decorated Mausoleums and the final resting place of many famous people.

    Nice work.

It would be from the inside of a mausoleum...a sarcophagus is the stone box they put the casket in...not much light in there, I'm afraid.

I like the low angle shots.

    Thanks for the comments.

@ChrisH - I would love to go to London and see the cemeteries as well as other sites, hopefully one day.

@ChrisC - Thanks, I thought Sarcophagus sounded strange.
