None of these were manipulated in Photoshop - they are 'straight' shots. I used Silver Efex Pro for the BW conversions. Numbers 1,2, and 8 were shot on black perspex to get the reflections.

    C&C welcome.

Wonderful stuff right across the board, Rob.

Only one that doesn't hold my attention is 'Lost Cause'. Too much white space? Not as 'strong' as the others? Would I be thinking this if I just saw it in isolation?

That's why I called it 'Lost Cause'

About 5 years ago, I gave my photography students an assignment in which they had to take two totally incongruent objects and put them together in a composition in such a manner as to "appear" okay. This is the shots I thought was the most successful in capturing that concept. It is untouched other than a scan.

That sounds like a good theme for a monthly comp. Perhaps someone should suggest it next time? I see everyone likes slinkies!

Thanks, Paul. That was done with a Silver Efex filter called 'solarization'. Only works with certain shots, but it can be quite effective.
