Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    To my CiC family,

If in the near future you might find some of my posts and replies are without the linked images, that's because I am almost out of space on my free flickr account. I am trying to consider getting the basic package of smugmug or, if you have any cheaper photo webhosting site that you can offer to me for the transition I would appreciate that. It seems that flickr is good but pretty basic on its system. I can only get better features or options if I go to their pro package, which is cheaper than smugmug. I just need something to host my images so I can post them. Any recommendations that doesn't burn the wallet? Thanks.

Thanks, Krisztina. I'll read the info about Picasa this afternoon. Flickr free package has a limited upload of 200 images. After that, it will nag you to upgrade to the unlimited upload for $24.95 per year. Right now, I have about 175 uploads.

Picasa offers, I believe, initially 1GB of free storage- I too had to upgrade-(My current plan for 20 USD I now have 80GB of storage) available.
but for 5 USD/year you can get 20GB...

I think you may have misread the limits on a free account at Flickr. Flickr will only display the most recent 200 photos in your stream on the website, but will still host and store all your old ones (i.e., if you posted them here, they'll still appear). And the only limits they make are on your upload bandwidth per month (300MB/month), but once the month is over, the count restarts. There's no time limit or limit on the number of images you can have in your account.

I signed up for the free tinypic account. I use it only for pictures I post to the web fora. I've never found a place to pay for an expanded service.

Granted, it is not for public display of your portfolio with all the goodies to drag people in, but it works.

    Have a guess :)

    Re: Sorry for the inconvenience.

Something I haven't tried yet, but in theory ...

I note that when I post an image on Facebook, they kindly supply me with a URL that I can share with others. Would this work? Are there any limits?

On another note, I use Pbase, and have been very happy with them. They charge a few bucks each year, but that's for as many photos as you can fit in 800MB (for the price I pay) (which at my setting equates to around 1600 photos).
