    Tummy, my kids' dachshund

I focused on the eyes and face but wanted the blur on the body part too. Should I have included the whole shadow on the right side of the dog?

    C&C please. Thanks a lot

Love this little pic of this cute little Dachy.
    Great sharp eyes and face.
I am thinking that, since he/she is looking off into that direction you could (maybe) improve the image by placing the dog more to the right of frame which would have included the shaddow.
But do you like it how it is?

Oh boy, such a sweet face, I love the softness around the paws, although the orange looks a bit strong to me. Also love the light on the head and eyes, as above, perhaps positioned to the right including the shadow may have been an improvement, but it's the expression that wins it for me, looks melancholy even though obviously enjoying it's treat.

Not sure I'm really qualified to offer C&C, but you've got to start somewhere.

    Regards

In my view yes, as it is, you seem to have composed for the signature, which makes that even more distracting. The black point would benefit from being raised a bit too I think.

However, it is a lovely expression, what a cutie

It made me smile the moment I saw it,

When you get a reaction out of people like this you are on the right track, Mel. I remember reading somewhere if an image makes a person laugh, cry or wince then it is a good image.

I love it too. I know you were trying to go for keeping the eyes and face sharp and in focus, I'm just curious what image one would have if the front paws were in focus as well. I only say that because to me they look like they are on the same plane as his face, but I like what you have done with this one as is.
