    Brighton Sunset - South Australia

We were down at Brighton (SA) with Nel's cousin who is back backing around Australia.

This one used some new filters.
I also shot with a relatively fast shutter speed to keep some definition to the water, rather than just a milky mess that I normally do.

    Hi Kym,

I do like the shot – nice colour and movement. I just wish I could see just a little more at both the top and bottom. If you framed this you run the risk of losing some of the wave action at the bottom and the pole in the middle would touch the top of the frame and divide the top half.

    Have a guess :)

    Hi Kym,

There's a lot of water below the horizon - and I guess that there needs to be if you want to include "the wave" at the bottom - but - in my opinion, "the wave" doesn't contribute enough to the scene to justify all the water.

It would be interesting to see how it looked it you "cut it in half, and threw the bottom 1/2 away"

I like it as is, love the soft colour and the wave blur. Rule of thirds......wave at the bottom, water in the middle, the pier delineating the top 3rd?
