Ladies - how is your allure?

My allure went a long time ago...

C&C welcome - but don't ask about my allure.

The first and last shots were done on black perspex to get the reflection. I used a black backdrop (Lastolite fold-out) and they were lit with two studio lights at 45deg to the front. All four shots were taken with Canon 5D Mk1, and Sigma 105mm.

For these next two I used my shoot-through method. The item is sandwiched between two studio lights. The one behind the object is diffused and forms the white backdrop. It also lets a lot of very soft light through the translucent parts of the object, and gives a very nice finish. The light in front of the object (behind the camera) just 'balances' the light levels - otherwise I'd just end up with a white-out and a dark object.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

Very nicely executed, Rob. These could easily pass as commercial product shots!

I can't remember where to find my allure, but I still have a shower once every six months whether I need it or not!

This is high, high quality shooting. My compliments.

Thanks, Yegor. I missed those. I thought I had gone over it vary carefully at 100%. That's the only problem with these reflections - dust!

Very nice indeed - the shoot through set up is my favourite...I may try to learn that with my...'hypnotic poison'...

Hmmmm! Sounds suspiciously like you're fishing for sympathy.

These are gorgeous - seems to me, anyway, but, what do I know?

In college, I took the typical art appreciation class. It was really great. I had a lot of fun. The teacher was a man that probably not a whole lot of people know his name but us Americans would immediately know what he's famous for. He designed the downy bottle. Hmm, I don't think that I have one to show you (I use Tide detergent, said Aunty Katy.) We talked about the word sensual - not meaning only the common use of the word that we see in advertising all around us with pretty women, etc. - but, also, as a sense of being very tactile. These are like that; so, yes, indeed, these would fit perfectly in a commercial sense - great marketing (which is maybe a strength of communication that every photo should have?) #2 and #4 are very much so and the last one is a very handsome set. I think that there's dust on your box, too, though. I hesitate to ask,... where's #1?

note: No downy bottle - sorry. It's really great for helping take off wallpaper but I must've used all of mine up with the dining room project, last year.

Kay, you are so funny! With the kitchen theme and all the apples going around, plus, all of the cologne bottles, I think that the real theme of the month is temptation. Shrug! C'est la vie!

I'm going, now, my camera lens is steaming up!

No, Yegor is right, there are dust spots there. His monitor must be quite bright to see tham though.

Seconded. It takes a lot of skill to get this level of quality.

I should try this with my Brut Splash it All over 'arry. Brut has a very classy pong and it prevents Wayne's pit bull from trying to hump your leg. We know how to smell up here you know. None of that namby pamby Lnyx that you southern jessies spray around your dangly bits

And the last one in this series. I shot this one this evening on my Epson flatbed scanner (3490 Photo). It's cheaper than L lenses!

    11 minute exposure.

Deep.... rich colors. Very creative! Actually, this photo does look like it belongs in a magazine or something but it's not something that I'd "snap my fingers" and say, "seen it a million times!"

Re: Ladies - how is your allure?

    Hi,

First of all, I admit that I didn't know this Allure. Not sure if it's because I don't know much about cosmetic or if it's not famous in Brazil.
Anyway, I can easily imagine these pictures in magazines for advertisement, and more, they really make us wanting one of them. Good work, Rob!
