An interesting, almost abstract composition. I like it. A low sun either rising or setting would probably turn the silo to shining gold.

Maybe a fraction more contrast, carefully applied?

I tend to wonder what is beyond the edges of the frame? Just more silos? Or did you need to exclude items from a wider scene?

Geoff, appreciate your comments. Beyond the edges as posted, are more grain silos, 10 altogether. Widening the scene beyond the silos would add distractions......

I'm heading out to Calgary for a conference next month and expect to be touring around a bit before it starts, so might head through that area.

If you have the time during your visit to Calgary a road trip south into Vulcan County (about 75 kms) has many photographic opportunities. Abandoned homesteads, barns, grain elevators, silos etc.....

Thanks - right now we are looking at heading up to just north of Drumheller (ghost towns and hoodoos with the Royal Tyrrell, that we've been to before as our "rain day" alternative), Writing on Stone Provincial Park, Waterton Lakes area and the Cowboy Trail (and some of the historic sites along it). We have one day after the conference before we fly home and the Vulcan area might be worth visiting.

Manfred, plenty of opportunities in the Drumheller area. The Rowley ghost town to the north.
A drive along hwy 10 to the east will take you some interesting locations. The old Star Coal Mine near Rosedale, the Willow Creek Hoodoos and further east the ghost town of Dorothy where there are 2 old churches and a grain elevator......

I agree with Geoff: I would boost the contrast. In the image below, I changed nothing but tonality to increase contrast, but that also increased the saturations of blues a bit, providing a nice contrast, IMHO
