7D creates duplicates when downloading to computer
After many years of hard work my Canon 7D Mk II has given up. I just get white images, sometimes with two horizontal pink bands. Also an error message.
I'm not overly concerned because when I bought the Mk II I had my old 7D Mk I reconditioned and have hardly used it until now. Works OK except when downloading to my computer using a direct connection and Bridge I get a duplicate copy of every image, but no problem when using a card reader.
More of an irritation than a serious problem; but I can't find any correction methods. All settings appear to be normal.
Any ideas?

Re: 7D creates duplicates when downloading to computer
Hi Geoff, sorry to hear that your 7DII has given up. At least you have a back up.
Regarding your issue of duplicate images I have not encountered this issue since I use a card reader to download.
I notice there are several tutorials from Canon on the subject and I did notice this which seems to indicate duplicate images do appear......
When downloading images to a computer from a Canon 7D, users may encounter duplicate images. This can occur if the camera is not properly connected to the computer or if the software used for transferring images is not installed correctly. To avoid this issue, ensure that the camera is connected to the computer via the USB cable and that the software is installed and running on the computer. If duplicates are still present, check the camera settings and ensure that the camera is not connected to the computer before starting the transfer process.

Re: 7D creates duplicates when downloading to computer
Thanks for the help. I have recently updated Bridge so maybe the older 7D isn't a recognised camera anymore. I will explore that option. Using a card reader is OK but I find it a bit fiddly and keep forgetting to replace my CF card or to delete images from the camera memory before shooting again. Maybe an idiot checklist will be required.
