The high contrast rendering of this image does not work well for me. You have lost much of the details in the bird to the point where it is difficult to even see that it is a bird. Taking advantage of the full range of gray shades in the image would likely give better results.

I would also suggest that you post bigger images if you can. The very small size of your image makes it difficult to evaluate it properly.
