    Frosted Cottonwoods

This image was taken just after the New Year when we had a few days of fog and heavy hoar frost.
I managed to get out along the river bank to photograph the beautiful frost covered trees but the minus 15C temperature was not exactly pleasant. I only took 2 photographs before calling it a day.
I spent a few hours editing and believe "fresh eyes" on the image would be beneficial.......

Once again, clicking on this image shows higher resolution with better contrast.

I like this image although I suppose you could experiment with carefully adding a fraction more highlight brightness. If you want that foreground tree to be the main subject you could slightly crop the left side and end up around 5 x 4 ratio.

This is by its nature a relatively low-contrast image. Maybe go in the opposite direction if you want more contrast. Look at the histogram:

I raised the black point, dropped the white point a tiny bit, and added a tiny bit of midtone contrast, by pulling down the shadows a very small amount, all with a single curves layer. Not a good edit, but enough to show that direction.

Thanks Dan, as discussed in a thread several days ago the point can be reached when having spent some time editing an image of not being able to "See The Wood For The Trees!"
    Appreciate your suggestions......
