Thanks for pointing out the video. I watched all but the end. Much of it is about machine-learning-based tools, but he did spend a little time talking about more basic things, like a comparison of raising shadows and dropping highlights. I think it would have been good to include more of the basics, but nonetheless, what he shows makes it clear that the free version of Affinity isn't remotely close to Photoshop/LR/ACR for my uses, and even the paid version doesn't really compare. I'm sure it's fine for many people--after all, we all made do with more primitive versions of Adobe products in the past, and I started with JASC Paint Shop Pro (well before Corel bought it). But given what Adobe offers, I'll stick with it.
