Hi Raymond,

Someone once said "a good sunset is nourishment for the soul".

I recall the time that I once got out of bed in the middle of the night - drove to a location about a 1/2 hour away - setup my camera - and waited for dawn.

I was treated to the most glorious sunrise - with clouds similar to your first shot. My camera struggled to focus, but I eventually got auto-focus confirmation (and switched my lens to manual at that point so it would just retain the last focal distance) and proceeded to take many dozens of shots as the sunrise progressed.

When I got back home and popped them into my computer I discovered that they all had something in common ...

... each and every one was out of focus

The lesson I learned that day: "Never blindly trust autofocus"!
