    Throgs Neck Bridge

I'm in NYC, and today I rode a ferry on the East River alongside Manhattan. I took a lot of shots of bridges for my next project, 52. While reviewing my files, I came across this image taken a few years ago. The bridge connects the borough of Queens and the Bronx. The view is towards the Bronx.

This is one of those situations where clicking on the image to see a higher resolution view makes a lot of difference. It brightens the shadows and gives better contrast in those subtle colour tones.

I think this is a nice capture, but it needs editing. if you look at the histogram, you'll see that you have a good spread of tones, but there is a lot bunched up at the bottom. I did a very simple edit, brightening the shadows and the lower midtones and cropping a bit. Not a good edit, but it shows what I mean.

Very nice, thank you, Dan. I never really noticed how dark it was. For me, it should be somewhere between the two. Perhaps, I can divide it into water, bridge, and sky, and adjust each accordingly. Your crop was also helpful in how I view the image. ty
